You will not be billed for any classes that are cancelled with notice more than 48 hours of the class start time, however I encourage students to stay consistent with their time as much as possible as poor attendance doesn’t make for great progress with the guitar! Similarly, I appreciate as much advance notice as possible of upcoming conflicts.
If you cancel your class within 48 hours of the start time, you can apply that payment to a different class during that week, if there is one available, or to *two classes in the following week.
If you cancel within 48 hours of the class start time, your payment for that class applies regardless of whether you were able to attend one of the other available classes in substitution.
There are no exceptions to the cancellation policy for illness, school vacations, holidays*, or any other reason. You can read more here about the policy that may address other questions or concerns.
*There are generally no classes on July 4, Thanksgiving day, Christmas day, or New Year’s Day, but this is always coordinated far in advance!
You will not be billed for any teacher absences for any reason. I will generally give advance notice of any vacations or absences on my part for reasons other than illness or emergency.
“Sitting in” and changing class times:
If for any given week you can’t attend your regular class time you are welcome to attend one of the other classes that are appropriate for you.
Please keep in mind that the less advanced notice I have of your attendance to a class, the less I can customize that class for you and involve the specific material you have been practicing. So, on short notice, think of attending a different class as “sitting in” and joining in on their material. In any case of changing class time or sitting in I will provide some information about what to expect.
It is not a problem if you have an inconsistent schedule or need to change times often as long as you keep in mind my cancellation policy as well as the considerations above about last minute class preparation.
There are no rescheduling or sitting in options for cancellations of one-on-one lessons within 48 hours.
*For those who sign up for 2x/week attendance: If you cancel one of your classes within 48 hours of the start time, you can apply that payment to a different class during that week, if there is one available, or to three classes in the following week.
