I think getting better at an instrument is a lot of fun, and I think teaching guitar is a lot of fun. I love what I do and I’m very grateful that I get to say that.

I have been teaching guitar in the Boston area since 1998 and teaching has been my full time job since 2002. I have taught over tens of thousands of classes to hundreds of different students: children, adult beginners, as well as many advanced players around the world through my online programs.

In addition to my testimonials, I have plenty of references available; many happy guitarists, kids, and parents, so feel free to ask.

Over the years I’ve been involved in many different musical projects. I’ve enjoyed being an accompanist to singer-songwriters, playing in rock bands, playing jazz gigs, writing and arranging music, and putting on entirely improvised solo guitar performances. In 2018 I was honored to be invited to join Dweezil Zappa for a local performance on his “Choice Cuts” tour.

If you'd like to hear me play, you can follow my instagram channel where I post short clips of things I might be working on. (While I post music there that is in a very specific style of guitar, I teach more general guitar playing to my students here in Jamaica Plain: folk, rock, blues, popular songs, etc.)

I have studied the guitar with Tim Miller, Steve Rochinski, and Bruce Bartlett, among others. I was awarded scholarships at both New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music, but did not attend either school and instead chose to focus on studying privately with teachers of my choice as well as honing my own craft as a teacher.
